A Conversation with Lead Gen Strategist Queen and Empowerment Mentor Amber Hansel.
Welcome to the Conscious Leader issue, where I interview leaders impacting lives, innovating their industry, and shaping the future through leadership.
This week, I interviewed Amber Hansel, a lead generation strategist and empowerment mentor who “takes all that knowledge to help service providers connect with others through social media.” — Amber Hansel.
What was your first eureka moment? The moment you realized more needed to be done.
My eureka moment came when I was asked why you don’t only do lead generation and engagement but also forgo the rest of your tasks within social media management. This was my passion, and I was good at connecting people.
How did you get started? Was the journey hard, filled with roadblocks?
I started my business with a newborn and a toddler, so there were many challenges, so I am currently homeschooling them. It’s more about time management and using your limited time with intention. There is no time to waste on things. They need to be simple and easy for it to get done. As kids can be unpredictable, allowing flexibility within my day helps me juggle the meltdowns and emails.
When did you decide to start your business, and why?
After a few years as a social media manager, I was increasingly drawn to lead generation and engagement, so I taught myself the methods that would be most helpful to different people.
When you started your business, did you receive positive feedback and support from your past colleagues?
When I started, I had support, and I still do. My husband is very understanding of what I do.
Did you experience a ‘dark night of the soul’ where you felt like giving up? As if your calling was too heavy? How did you overcome that and keep moving forward?
Many times along the way, I have felt like giving up, whether from bad experiences with clients or just the industry itself. These are the times I’ve had to lean into my support system and trust myself in what I am doing.
How long does your consulting last? Why is that timeframe necessary? What result will your clients get?
My Inside Out Growth program is a one-to-one coaching program that lasts for four months. It’s four months because I have laid out four stages for the clients to go through in order where they can receive support from me and provide for their clients. This program is set up for you to achieve clients that light up your soul, content that flows out of you with clarity, messages that connect with people that mean something, more patience to juggle life and the desire to build your community in the online space.
Please share your final thoughts about leadership for those in the education sector.
Leadership is about standing firm in yourself and understanding your emotions and actions before others. Trust yourself; you have the skills and knowledge to share.
